There are five major web-hosting types: Shared Hosting, VPS Hosting, Dedicated Hosting, Co-Located Hosting, and Cloud Hosting.

2. VPS Hosting - This is the best choice, regarding price/resources/security. VPS (Virtual Private Server) is giving you a lot of advantages compared to Shared hosting. The main advantages are unique IP/IPs, more Bandwidth, more HDD space, and the most important of all - bigger CPU usage quota.
3. Dedicated Hosting - With this type of hosting your website is the only one on the server, and it is capable of using all server resources. Everything is better, than all other types of hosting, except of the price, which is significantly higher.
4. Co-Located Hosting - This type of hosting is very similar to dedicated hosting. The only difference is that you are not renting a server, the server is yours, and it is located for example in a data-center.
5. Cloud Hosting - When your website is cloud-hosted, it is using the resources of multiple servers, and the computing power is virtually unlimited.
